Child Abuse

This is a somewhat depressing post but one that needs to be done none the less. Child abuse is on the rise, not only in Oklahoma but everywhere. We need to do more to protect our children! I want to encourage everyone to research the signs and symptoms and educate yourself on what to look for. Also if you suspect abuse, by law, you have to report it. You do not have to have proof and you do not have to leave your information but you do have to call. The national child abuse hotline number is 1-800-4-A-CHILD.

I think this is a good post! Child abuse unfortunately is on the rise. I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that men can no longer beat on women and vice-a-versa because of the Domestic Violence laws. Children are so precious and if people do not want them, opposed to hurting them, put them up for adoption.

Thanks for posting this. I think we all need reminders sometime on our moral obligations. I'm currently applying to Master's programs for social work to eventually go into child protective services. I think most of the time we want to be able to believe that people would never abuse their children. I've run in to red tape in a previous experience, very frustrating.

Thanks for posting this blog, it is so important the people realize just how serious this problem is.***Note for teachers*** if you suspect abuse or know for sure abuse is happening and you do not report it you can lose your teaching license. DON'T RISK IT!!!

Hey Delynna I liked the child abuse web page, I am in your group and I did elder abuse. It was insightful and I was glad that you let me read yours, it was a little depressing for me also, children and the elderly are considered to be on the same level, they are basically unable to fend for themselves and are at the mercy of others.
